Financial Times is promoting chief information officer Yasmin Jetha to chief operating officer. It’s not the only sign of an increasing technology influence at the highest level – Jetha is holding on to her CIO duties, too, Media Week says. Jetha joined FT in 2006 after nearly two decades with Abbey, where she started as a systems analyst. She has also been responsible for procurement at the paper as well as systems roll-out for the FT’s growing international print presses and production centres. She will integrate systems from recent acquisitions Exec-Appointments and Money-Media. An old Computing article has a good bio. FT COOs in recent years have included Michael Murphy and Zach Leonard.
