By Robert Andrews

Twenty-four months after leaving the BBC to join social media consultancy Headshift, the agency’s senior consultant Robin Hamman is joining big PR firm Edelman as director of digital in London.

Former BBC colleague Richard Sambrook, who was director of global news at the corporation, joined Edelman as its first chief content officer last month, so the firm is really staffing up at the top on social media strategy, tapping the idea that every company can now be a content-creating media company.

Hamman worked to thread blog tools in to Beeb life whilst on attachment from a senior broadcast journalist post in the English regions, and also began social media monitoring strategy for the newsroom.

Hamman blogs: “If you’re not familiar with the thought leadership coming out of Edelman Digital, or the Edelman Insights, Case Studies, or the Global Peace Index and the Edelman Trust Barometer, do take a look.”
