Last.fm Ramps Up On Widgets With Netlog, Sofia’s Diary

By Robert Andrews

Multi-lingual pan-European social net upstart Netlog is making a song and dance today about letting its users add Last.fm’s radio widget to their profile pages. If there’s a big deal, it may be that Netlog users don’t have to be Last.fm members to share custom playlists on their page from the music site’s large repertoire. Last.fm already has 19 million users of its off-site widgets – almost as many as the 21 million who use the site itself.

Also today, owner CBS says Last.fm put its Superbands app on Bebo, saying the fictional star of new Bebo drama Sofia’s Diary will use it to show her fave bands to the world. No sign of it on her profile yet, though.
