Industry Moves: Guardian’s Thinkproperty, Telegraph Media Group, Library House

Thinkproperty: The property portal owned by Guardian Media Group has hired rival Rightmove’s marketing manager Suzanne Deakins to a new role of group marketing head, reports Brand Republic. The site is looking to shift some of a £9 million marketing budget from search engine optimisation and online display ads to offline advertising, but not a TV campaign. Thinkproperty ranks amongst the UK’s top 10 property sites according to comScore.

Telegraph Media Group: Some appointments bringing the Daily, Sunday and online operations closer together. Damian Reece, City editor at the Daily Telegraph, will become business editor across all three titles; each will still also maintain separate City editors. Iain Martin, currently deputy editor at the Sunday Telegraph, will become group executive editor, writes the Press Gazette.

Library House: The Cambridge-based source of online information about fast-growing, innovative European companies has appointed Andrea Favale as SVP, head of product. He will be tasked with expanding the outfit’s range of products, which includes VenturePedia, an 8,000-entry database chronicling the daily movements investments and other deals undertaken by European tech companies. Favale had previously worked for FT Group’s Mergemarket online financial intelligence provider and was MD of Wealthmonitor.
