ITV (LSE: ITV) has hired Sun Online assistant editor Marc Webber ashead of content, one of three new online hires. Webber had joined the newspaper’s website in May 2006 after stints at , the PA and a number of broadcast outlets. In his time, Sun Online has experienced considerable traffic growth. , however, has rarely hung together as an enticing online destination, despite a £20 million reboot last year.
ITV also takes entertainment company IMG’s director of new media production Kate Bradshaw. Last year’s relaunch hype make a big play of upcoming original drama and factual commissions for the website, so Bradshaw’s appointment is now indicative of the groundwork being laid. They will report to ITV Broadband MD Annelies van den Belt, The Guardian reports.
