Gig Community Nvivo.es Scores Funding To Go International

Nvivo.es, a Spanish social net designed to connect users with music gigs and fellow gig-goers, has scored a first round of funding to take its idea international. The amount is undisclosed and comes from Luis Martín Cabiedes, Europa Press, the Bergareche family through its business promotion company Berquet Desarrollo Empresarial (Berquet Business Development) and other private investors. Cabiedes’ previous investments include Privalia, video how-to site Sclipo, classifieds aggregator Trovit and on-demand printer Bubok.

Nvivo.es was co-founded by Carlos Sanchez when he left his position as technical manager of Spanish job site Trabajar last year. The site claims a database of over 200,000 artists, lets its 10,669 registered users add each other as friends and sends alerts to nearby concerts as email. It got 288,320 unique visitors in November. Nvivo said the funds would help it “grow in traffic, users and quality of content” (see announcement) (via Loogic).
