ITV (LSE: ITV) Worldwide’s head of new media Martin Blakstad is quitting “to pursue other interests”, the broadcaster told us, confirming C21’s report. ITV has now lost two of its online chiefs, following the recent departure of ITV broadband MD Annelies van den Belt to LiveJournal owner Sup. ITV said that finding her replacement is “an ongoing process” but that chief technology adviser Dominic Cameron’s stand-in is going well… so well, his LinkedIn profile has already adopted van den Belt’s job title.
The second iteration of ITV.com’s free seven-day catch-up feature has resulted in traffic quadrupling in May since its launch, but ITV boss Michael Grade fumed last week at the six-month delay imposed on commercial VOD player Kangaroo by the Competition Commission. A former CEO of easyGroup’s easyValue price comparison site, Blakstad took the position in 2005 with Granada International, which formed the basis of ITV’s overseas distribution and production arm.
