DMGT’s Associated Northcliffe Digital (AND) has bought Broadbean, a Canary Wharf-based web job ads outfit that offers ad posting to multiple recruitment sites as well as response tracking. The price for what is DMGT’s fourteenth acquisition wasn’t disclosed, but the 50-employee outfit, which says it distributes over 1.5 million ads to over 700 sites each month, will keep its name. Broadbean says it has an international strategy that can now be executed through AND. Release.
Meanwhile, DMGT upping Daily Mail (LSE: DMGT) MD Guy Zitter to overall Mail Newspapers MD, expanding his role to include Mail On Sunday and Mail Digital, following Stephen Miron’s departure to Global Radio, Guardian.co.uk says. Recent restructuring saw online power concentrate in newspaper brands’ hands rather than with AND, and it’s still unclear whether a new MD will be found for AND following Andy Hart’s exit in that restructure in July.
AND operates a whopping 37 job classifieds sites – not including its other classified verticals of property, motors and dating – after an acquisition binge over the last couple of years that has included Jobsite.com. The Broadbean acquisition suggests it wants to cut time taken to post ads across its own network – and perhaps start putting ads on to others’ job sites.
