The House of Lords’ communications select committee has criticised the UK government for emphasising online public communications at the expense of traditional printed material.
The government launched Directgov (once mocked as Directionlessgov) in 2004 following a Phillis Review recommendation that information from across government departments be consolidated on a single consumer-facing site.
