— Evening Standard: Changing of the guard at the Evening Standard: editor Veronica Wadley will step down as editor after seven years in the job to make way for Tatler editor Geordie Greig following the paper’s acquisition by Alexander Lebedev. The former Daily Mail (LSE: DMGT) deputy editor wants to “pursue other interests in journalism”. Reports say redundancies are coming. — WAYN: The travel social net Where Are You Now? has made its business development director Matt Jerwood redundant after 20 months in the job. NMA says Jerwood, who joined from being Dennis Publishing’s mobile head, had spearheaded a branded SIM card, pre-pay and mobile website. WAYN is now down to 10 UK staff.
— Times: Times Online has poached Birmingham Post’s young social media enthusiast Joanna Geary to be a web development editor. Geary stepped up to that role at the regional in July after using blogs, Twitter and all that social stuff whilst a reporter. Few details on what the new post entails yet, but she starts in March.
