Trinity Mirror Rethinking Liverpool.com, Four Jobs Lost

imageTrinity Mirror’s north west and north Wales division appears to be shifting the direction of its Liverpool.com metro website and printed mag of the same name, with the loss of four jobs. How-Do says the title could go quarterly and take stories from Trinity’s Liverpool Echo paper – true to say, also, the domain name could be somewhat valuable. Stories certainly won’t come from the current editorial team – editor David Lloyd said staff no longer have access to the site but would continue talking to readers using Twitter. It’s “very sad”, he said.

Liverpool.com is heavy on local events and came in to its own during 2008, when the city held the European Capital Of Culture title. Trinity bought Liverpool-based sports web design studio Rippleffect for up to £5.8 million last year but is making cost cuts after losing advertising sales.
