Johnston Outsourcing Job Ads Boards To DMGT

DMGT is winning more and more business by helping its competitors. After striking deals to sell and unsold ads, it’ now won a contract to supply Johnston Press with job ad boards.

Specifically, DMGT’s Jobsite will power Johnston’s JobsToday, and boards, which show vacancies on its network of 323 regional news sites.

The move should free debt-laden Johnston of the burden of managing its own job ads. Not that anyone is profiting much from recruitment classifieds at the moment – in the six months to March, DMGT’s regional job ad income was 33 percent down from the year before and Johnston’s are thought to have fallen heavily, too, though a specific figure wasn’t given.
