Pirate Bay’s Chief Agitator Slunks Away From The Fight

If The Pirate Bay were a rock band, Peter Sunde would be its frontman. For the last few years, the Norwegian-Finnish developer – one of four caretakers of the BitTorrent searcher – has been first to taunt and raise a middle finger to frustrated entertainment industries.

But, after Sunde and his cohorts were defeated in suits brought by music companies and Holland’s copyright group, he is distancing himself from the Bay to reinvent himself elsewhere.

Sunde blogged: “I have decided to not be the spokesperson for The Pirate Bay anymore. The reasons are many but most importantly it takes too much of my time. I want to build something new and I want to focus my energy in a different direction.
