Haymarket B2B Chief Durham Out In Heseltine Shuffle

The Heseltine family’s revamp of Haymarket after MediaWeek‘s closure continues. Along with Lord Michael Heseltine’s previous announcement that his son Rupert will take over his executive chairmanship from January 1, comes news Martin Durham, MD and chair of MediaWeek and Camaign publisher Haymarket Business Media is leaving early.

Statement: “Martin’s contract is due to expire shortly and it has been agreed to bring this forward to coincide with other management changes so that the inevitable review that follows from such changes can be conducted now in the same timescale.”

Heseltine, in the same statement, says: “I announce this news with very great regret.” But clearly not so much regret that Durham’s contract hadn’t been allowed to run its course.

In Heseltine’s changes, Haymarket Consumer Media MD Kevin Costello is taking charge as group MD for r all UK businesses, as well as India, Australia, Germany and Hong Kong.

Haymarket Business Media, of course, is in a period of transition, having last month opted to shut the print editions of MediaWeek and Revolution with 18 redundancies while continuing to use BrandRepublic as a kind of aggregator of all the division’s media and marketing content.
