4iP Funds Arts Site Central Station As McIntosh Departs

4iP has made one of its biggest investments so far in Central Station, a community for artists, film-makers and designers to share tips and show off their work.

We had understood the site, formed in April by Glasgow agency ISO, is getting nearly about £750,000 from C4, Scottish Screen and the Scottish Arts Council, though 4iP tells us the investment, while over £100,000, is lower than that it gave to MyBuilder, which was £350,000.

The investment was agreed early this year, but it’s thought the deal was only signed recently. 4iP is a fund for public-minded innovations that has £20 million committed from Channel 4 and £30 million from a range of regional media development partners over three years.

It’s unclear how, or whether Central Station intends to profit.
