Nokia has been talking about “SoLo” social location sharing for some time now, for a couple of years before independent services for the purpose cropped up. But those services would seem to have got a headstart and Nokia has steered clear of building its own network…
Nokia’s implementation recognises where users are using a directory of places from services like Wcities, and allows users to post an Ovi Maps web link for that location to networks including Facebook and Twitter.
But the service, for now, is not sharing out to Facebook’s own Places system or to Foursquare and Gowalla.
