CitySocialising, a website that aims to connect urbanites for making new friends, is taking a first-round venture funding – £1 million led by the PROfounders consortium of entrepreneurs.

The site is free to join but members must pay at least £12.99 a month in order to attend parties and gatherings listed on the site.

It claims over 100,000 users, and has grown from London, where it was formed by CEO Sanchita Saha in 2007, to 20 cities.

Members stage over 600 socials each month around the country.

We last covered CitySocialising in early 2009, when CitySocialising raised angel funding. PROfounders numbers Brent Hoberman and Michael Birch.
