WSJ Ups Europe Online Editor McIntosh, Adds More Video

WSJ.com Europe’s online editor Neil McIntosh has been appointed deputy editor of The Wall Street Journal (NSDQ: NWS) across print and digital.

Europe.WSJ.com’s news editor Jennifer Hicks comes in in McIntosh’s place, while deputy editor Parminder Bahra will become executive producer in charge of video and social media.

WSJ Europe editor Tracy Corrigan, in an email to staff, says the change is being made “to strengthen our regional news operation in Europe and give additional impetus to our continuing online expansion”. Corrigan also calls video “an exciting new area for us”.

Former tech reporter McIntosh joined WSJ from Guardian.co.uk, where he was head of editorial development, in 2009 as the European online edition’s launch editor, kicking off what has been a new push in to Europe for WSJ.
