Industry Moves: Dow Jones Eyes Europe, Reuters’ New CTO, ProSiebenSat.1

Dow Jones: Former Incisive Media MD Tony Gibson is joining DJ as its European consumer media deputy MD, MediaWeek says. He’ll be charged with pulling in revenue across all DJ’s publications on this continent, including Wall Street Journal Europe, Financial News, Financial News Online and Private Equity News. Meawhile, Dow Jones (NYSE: NWS) International advertising group head Tracey Lehane is moving to the new role of WSJ Europe commercial director, reporting to Gibson.

Thomson Reuters: James Powell, currently chief technology officer of the newswire’s markets division, is stepping up to be group CTO, starting August 1, replacing Michael Wilens, who is heading to fund manager Fidelity Investments. Powell is a Reuters veteran who has worked across several divisions, Reuters itself reports. As Reuters COO Devin Wenig told our FOBM conference in November, the wire plans to improve its metadata.

ProSiebenSat.1: The German pay-TV operator is losing Thomas Schultheis, co-MD of its SevenSenses digital TV, VOD and mobile TV unit. It’s part of an exec-level exodus that coincides with a falling share price and a rumoured News Corp acquisition approach, Variety reports. CEO Guillaume de Posch is already set to quit in December.
