Advertising giant WPP now owns a majority of Shanghai-based in-game advertising outfit InGame Ad Interactive Technology’s owner IGA Ltd, after buying a further 12.82 percent share of the company. That takes WPP’s ownership to 55 percent, while Revolution Ventures holds 45 percent and founder shareholders the rest. WPP said the extension signified its further arrival in developing markets and its commitment to China – but it’s also another buy in the video game advertising market. In April, it bought a minority stake in Scottish game ads provider Realtime Worlds for $8.1 million, and it invested $3 million in another, WildTangent, in 2006. Release
