Lastminute.com’s managing director and chief marketing officer Simon Thompson is leaving to head Apple’s online store for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. He replaces Neil Stevens, who has quit to head Skype’s global consumer business, NMA reports.
Thompson joined Lastminute.com from his post as Motorola’s European marketing chief in March 2007. He previously worked on Honda’s creative ads. Lastminute.com is hiring American Express’ marketer Mark Newton as its new European marketing director, in a replacement of sorts.
