Arqiva’s TV catch-up website SeeSaw continues its curious pitch for paying customers.
The site last recently started charging viewers £2.99 a month just to remove the copious pre-rolls they are forced to watch as free users.
But it’s already dropping that price to just one penny in a short promotion.
That price, of course, is inconsequential as income. The thinking can only be that it does give SeeSaw the opportunity to gather debit card details from any takers – something which may make it more convenient for viewers to pay up when the price reverts to £2.99.
With the 1p offer running only between Friday and Monday, however (ie. a weekend, when many people don’t want to be in front of their computer), how many card details SeeSaw can capture remains to be seen.
