The TV Genius company, which provides recommendation engines, search and TV guides to broadcast platforms, is being acquired by Red Bee Media, which video hosting and delivery for broadcasters.
Red Bee intends to deploy TV Genius’ algorithms through RedPlayer, the cross-platform video player it began pitching to broadcasters this summer.
“Together, we intend to reinvent the EPG for online video,” says Red Bee CEO Bill Patrizio.
TV Genius clients include ITV (LSE: ITV), Sky, Freeview, Astra, Bauer Media, IPC Media, STV and AOL.
