MWC: Vodafone Outsources NZ Games, Streamezzo SDK, Parental Controls

This year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona begins before most have even glimpsed La Ramblas. Some announcements hoping to steal some early attention in Catalonia…

– Vodafone (NYSE: VOD) games: Vodafone in New Zealand is outsourcing its mobile games operation to Germany-based End2End. It leaves Vodafone live! handling just the marketing of its games offering, though End2End’s services will also give it a “Club Zone” offering for multiplayer gaming across operators.

– Streamezzo SDK: French rich mobile media platform vendor Streamezzo, which has rich media client/server software, a mobile multimedia authoring package and a system to push out mobile TV in its product lineup, is releasing a Software Developers Kit (SDK) for its Workbench product that allows developers to write applications once for a single operating system but more easily port it to multiple handset types.

– Parental controls: AdaptiveMobile has used Cisco (NSDQ: CSCO) networking technology to create a new set of filters parents can use to limit their kids’ mobile web activity. It lets them limit access to individual sites like Facebook ro MySpace as well as individual features like SMS or MMS, and is based on the operator network itself.
